Meet the Members: Izaak Kidd

Tell us a little about yourself
Hi! I'm Izaak, a 25 year old freelancer working with illustration, video and animation. I live in Ipswich where I create work that connects to people in a human and fun way. I first took to the creative industry a couple of years ago, working freelance on animated videos for the local council. With a university degree from Norwich University of the Arts, I found inspiration to pursue a visual arts when finishing a Fine Art course at college. I have led  numerous creative projects including visual and narrative development for TV, production of illustrated videos for online platforms and crafting children’s illustrations to help teach letters of the alphabet. I love creating characters and narratives in illustration, and I continue to pursue video and animations for clients and companies.

When do you feel most creative?
I like to walk, the fresh air and changing landscapes often inspire creativity.

How did you find out about Unicorn Studios?
In conversation with Rob, we worked on an animation project together and I found out about the creative space a couple of years ago i think!

While working at home what is your guilty pleasure?
I like to work in various spaces, think up ideas/write things down in the living room or on a pillow! Comfort first.

Have you had any embarrassing Zoom moments?
I cannot think of one, I can think of lots!

What is your hidden talent?
Oh, uh... cooking!

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
Sailing. I like the ocean lots.

What’s one of your favourite memories from 2020?
Christmas Day was fantastic, cosy and calm.

What are you most looking forward to doing when the world gets back to ‘normal’?
I have a long, long list of things i will do.

What would success look like for you in the future?
Floating on a yacht.

Would you rather be a tiny unicorn or a giant hamster?
Tiny unicorn, 1000 percent!
